متن کاملAdsorption of anionic surfactant at the electrode–NaClO4 solution interface
ABSTRACT Adsorption of 1-decanesulfonic acid at the electrode-NaClO4 solution interface was determined by double-layer differential capacity measurements. At potentials less than -1,200 mV, the adsorption of the anionic surfactant on the electrode does not occur. Low concentrations of the anionic surfactant (below cmc) causes slight changes in the zero charge potential, Ez, and the surface tens...
متن کاملAdsorption of surfactant-rich stickies onto mineral surfaces.
"Stickies" are tacky species, present in recycled paper and coated broke, derived from coating formulations, adhesives etc. They impact negatively on paper quality and cause web runnability problems by deposit build-up. To sustain recycling, stickies are controlled by adsorbing them onto minerals added to the recycled stock. We report isotherms for a fatty acid ester defoamer and an acrylic aci...
متن کاملEffect of cationic surfactant on the adsorption characteristics of anionic surfactant on cellulose surface
Adsorption kinetics and equilibrium studies of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (NaDBS) on cellulosic surface are investigated. Modifications in adsorption induced by cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) are studied. It is concluded that the rate of adsorption and the amount of adsorption are increased. Importance of these observations in detergency is indicated.
متن کاملSeismoelectric measurements on artifical porous media and Berea sandstone
Seismic to electromagnetic wave conversion has been proposed as a possible exploration method. We present laboratory measurements of the conversion of an acoustic wave into electric potential, which occurs at a fluid/porous-medium interface. The conversion is measured for artificial porous media and Berea sandstone. Recorded electric potentials are smaller for largegrain samples. We also show v...
